From Malaga you are in less than a hour for a piece in Britain inside Spain. Gibraltar, which was formerly a very strategic place in Europe, is in fact a British overseas territory. Sometimes it can take a while before you get passed by the customs, but once “inside” you immediately notice that you have left Spain. The 30,000 inhabitants speak mainly English and the road signs are in English, but they drive right.
Main tourist attractions are the Rock of Gibraltar, some remains from the time when the Moors ruled here and Upper Rock Nature Reserve.
You can also book a day tour to Gibraltar, more information about this tour and reservation can be found via www.viator.com.
Please note this is an English-speaking tour and will last a full day.
